Caravan Saray in Kusadasi – a large fortification, which is one of the main attractions of the city. This building is located next to the port and the embankment of the city, the entrance to it is free, so most of the tourists always come into it to see the old building.
The caravan-serai in the city of Kusadasi was built in the 16th century and served as a place where travelers of trade caravans stayed. Inside the building there are internal rooms (rooms). Travelers were located on the second floor, and the first served to accommodate animals and goods. This place was also a “fortress” and could be used for some protection thanks to its massive walls and iron gates.
In the 60s of the last century, the Caravan Saray was restored and now it is a place frequented by tourists. Periodically, during the tourist season, there are various exhibitions, as well as entertainment programs.
